The Hand and Trumpet in Wrinehill, next to Betley, underwent a full-on renovation in 2006, and (even though we say it ourselves) we’re pretty chuffed with how it’s turned out.

It’s a decent sized pub, seating about 150, with classic old floors, rugs, open fires, books and old furniture. There’s a sizeable garden with a large pond, and we’ve built a deck out over the rear of the pub which overlooks the grounds. It’s a stunner when the sun comes out. For those that don’t live locally, Wrinehill is situated right next to Betley, a small market town listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 (although the market ceased trading in Victorian times). One village melds seamlessly into the other, with the Hand and Trumpet lying at the northerly edge of Wrinehill, although in archives it is often listed as being in Betley. |

We recently ate at the hand and trumpet, the food was exceptional, as were the staff who served us. The hand and trumpet has a friendly atmosphere and excellent food. It's definitely worth a visit.

We recently went for a celebratory meal at the Hand and Trumpet. We enjoyed a very nice bottle of champagne from an extensive wine list as well as having a lovely meal from a daily menu. The pub is well presented, with open fires and a warm atmosphere. The staff were friendly and we really enjoyed the whole experience, thank you. Well worth a visit.

We often stop in Crewe on our way between France and the Isle of Man (long story). When we are there, we have a little drive round looking for places to eat and have a beer. We found The Hand and Trumpet by accident... and I'm glad we did. Pleasant staff, decent food, good beer and a superb terrace overlooking the lake (and I love the rugs inside!)
If you are in Crewe any time, make the effort and visit The Hand and Trumpet. You'll not be disappointed, I promise.
