About The Famous Creg Ny Baa

The Famous Creg-ny-baa Pub is steeped in history as one of the most spectacular landmarks on the World famous Mountain Course. It enjoys fantastic views of the course and plays host to thousands of spectators every year during the TT and Manx Grand Prix races. However, away from the races “The Famous Creg” is still known as a relaxed, homely restaurant. Children are treated as one of the family and high chairs and baby changing facilities are available.

David and Sandrina Teece took over The Famous Creg in January 2007 and refurbished the building to a high standard. As a close family unit they created a family pub environment with a homely feel with freshly cooked food at reasonable prices, but most importantly with excellent levels of customer service. Children are treated as one of the family and high chairs and baby changing facilities are available. Additionally, Senior Citizens are catered for with their own menu (Mon - Sat).

Sandrina is very proud of her loyal team. Since her husband David passed away suddenly, everyone has worked together to realise his dream and keep his vision alive by creating a vibrant, thriving, enterprise with a warm welcome for everyone.

Refreshing to go into a bar as a complete stranger and be welcomed like you were one of the family! The staff are terrific. The food is excellent - good quality pub grub - the beer is spot on and the location is unique. As gastro pubs go, The Creg is head and shoulders above many others I've been to. I'll be happy to go back next time I visit the Isle of Man

We stopped at the Creg Ny Baa as we came over the mountain road after visiting Ramsey. Despite its isolated position, we were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely clean well kept and run Manx country pub, along with a range of locally brewed ales which appealed to my taste. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and our (well behaved) dogs were welcomed too . The meals we ordered were nicely presented tasty and filling. I wish we could visit more often.

This was one of our "Top Three" pub restaurants while we were over for TT. Excellent food, really happy and friendly staff, good beer and a superb spot for watching bikes travel at silly speeds! We'll be back in 2013!

Excellent pub just 3 or 4 miles up the mountain outside Douglas. The staff were friendly - lots of smiles all round - and the beer was good. I didn't eat there but I saw plenty of food being served and it looked like good size portions, all fresh and looks of happy concentration from the customers.

Must make a point of eating there next time.

It wasn't difficult to find The Creg - it's the only building for miles! We went there on a cloudy day, so the view was "limited" most of the time, but when there was a break in the clouds, it was easy to see how spectacular it would be on a sunny day.

Everybody was very friendly and they serve a great beer. I had Deep Fried Brie followed by their own "Moby Dick" Deep Fried Cod. I was far too stuffed to go for a dessert (though I did manage another couple of beers!)

Highly recommended!

Our visit to The Creg was not planned. We had invited friends from Siberia (really) and, as soon as we had settled them into their cottage, decided it was time to eat. Since Mike had just started cheffing there, we chose The Creg - and very happy too. We had 4 "kids" with us (varying in ages from 4 upwards) and they got stuck into the kids menu while we sampled the delights of Moby Dick and stuff.

Excellent food, not too long a wait, great beer and some happy Russians! That'll do for me!

It's the little things that make the difference ... like the cheery smiles as the waiter brings your food, and they ask if you want stuff - they don't wait for you to ask.
