About The Stackpole Inn

Locations don't come much more exciting than this. Our bed & breakfast accommodation and restaurant is within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and just 15 minutes walking distance of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, Stackpole Quay and Barafundle Bay - described by the Sunday Times as "a desert island dream beach in Wales." Close by are the Stackpole Trust Centre, the Lilly Ponds of Bosherston and the stunning beach - Broad Haven. Also St Govans Chapel, The Green Bridge of Wales ( a huge natural arch) and Stack Rocks (a bird watchers paradise) are a short drive away - as are the beaches of Freshwater East and Freshwater West for the more energetic surfers amongst us.

The Stackpole Inn has been awarded the "Best Gastropub in Wales" award at the Great British Pub Awards 2011. We are also very proud to announce that we have been voted the 2011 "Best food experience Pembrokeshire" by Pembrokeshire tourism. In 2010 we were voted the Western Telegraph readers choice restaurant of the year. In previous years we have been voted the best food pub in Wales by the Morning Advertiser and proud to have been awarded the Pembrokeshire produce mark in recognition of our use of the very best of local produce.

Our high quality home cooked food has earned us places in many of the top guide books including "pick of the pubs" in the AA pub guide, Alistair Sawdays, Wales Great Little Places of distinction, Food Wales eating out guide and Wales in Style

After a day out at Broadhaven beach, we drove past the Stackpole Inn on the way back to our digs - then did an about-turn and decided on an early supper. I'm glad we did. They were booked solid for later in the evening but were happy to accommodate us because it was still early. Our timing was impeccable since they were soon turning people away - and that says a lot about a B&B and pub restaurant in the middle of nowhere!

While waiting for our meal, we were given apperitifs of olives, balsamic dip and home made crusty bread. When the food arrived (no big delays) the portions were generous and the food delicious. Everything was really tasty and very good friendly service. It was all reasonably priced for the quality. In fact, the whole experience was a good one. This pub restaurant will be top of our list to return to when we are next on the Pembroke coast. In fact, we shall be using it as our base in future.
