About The Wellington Hotel

The Wellington Hotel is one of the oldest buildings in the market town of Brecon. The Georgian facade stands sentinel on the town square overlooking the Duke of Wellington himself. Our hotel is situated in a prime position within easy reach for all the amenities of Brecon and its beautiful surrounding countryside.

We serve a mix of classic & traditional dishes using Welsh produce, served in our open plan dining area where we can cater for small parties and those special occasions. Old favourites such as Beer Battered Fish & Chips and Steak & Ale Pie are mixed in with the traditional char-grilled steaks, gammon and chicken, alongside more modern dishes such as pastas and vegetarian ranges to suit a variety of tastes!

We offer a range of smaller snacks for those wishing to choose a lighter option. These include filled breads and jacket potatoes. Children are very welcome at the Wellington Hotel and we have a special menu for the under 12's. Our Sunday roasts have become a very popular family meal out and booking is advised to avoid being disappointed. We also serve Costa coffee, along with teas and hot chocolate to boot.

We have a fantastic range of premium beers including Heineken, along-side our fantastic award winning Brains cask ales. We also stock a range of interesting seasonal ales such as St David's, Top Notch & Bread of Heaven to name but a few

Stopped here for lunch when a group of us visited Brecon for the day. The Wellington is one of the Brains Brewey chain so the menu is good and varied. Lunch was fine with hot, tasty food and very quick service. The staff are an obvious asset and I would definitely stop by again. I had the feeling that this would be an equally good place for an evening meal.

Our group variously had char-grilled steaks, gammon, chicken and jacket potatoes, and all reports were excellent. Well done to the staff for great service.
