Review of The Strathaven Hotel - Strathaven - South Lanarkshire written

We wined and dined at Strathaven Hotel at a family wedding and also, the following day as hotel guests, so I guess we saw both sides of the business! As a wedding venue, it did exactly what it said on the tin - beautiful surroundings, excellent organisation and catering plus accommodation for guests who needed it.

As a bar and restaurant that's open to the public, it was no less impressive. The bar is comfortable and serves well-kept beers and, of course, wines & spirits. The restaurant, though not claiming to be haute cuisine, served an excellent choice of food in a Scottish-French style (the halibut and noodles were particularly tasty). This is a really good choice for quality-price balance when in Scotland.
