About The Westleton Crown

Whether you are wanting to 'get away from it all' on a holiday break, visiting on business, or simply looking for somewhere superb to dine, you will find that The Westleton Crown, set on the Suffolk Heritage Coast between Southwold and Aldeburgh, offers a distinctly different experience to your usual hotel, restaurant or pub.

Dating back to the 12th century, this traditional Suffolk coaching inn retains the character and rustic charm of its heritage – but with the added sophistication and comforts of contemporary living. All of the benefits of a genuine local pub can be found in the bar where the welcome is warm, the atmosphere relaxed, and plenty of local ales are consumed. Alternatively, sample the sophisticated AA 2 rosette menu and extensive wine list in our elegant restaurant, cosy parlour or stylish conservatory. In warmer weather, you can enjoy our charming terraced gardens for an early evening drink or some alfresco dining.

From its quietly cracking log fires and real ales through to the 34 stylish comfortable bedrooms, creatively indulgent menus and fine wines, The Westleton Crown is undoubtedly one of the most charming hotels in Suffolk with food and drink to match.

Review of The Westleton Crown - Southwold - Suffolk written
Rating stars
It's been a long time since I was in Suffolk, so I was looking forward to my stay at The Crown (if it's good enough for William and Kate, it's good enough for me!!)... and I wasn't disappointed either. The rooms were super-comfortable and the welcome was friendly and efficient. When we ate in the evening, I had a starter of home-smoked organic Shetland salmon with chive blinis and chilled cucumber yoghurt which was just melt-in-the-mouth gorgeous, and for main course chose breast of Gressingham duck with rosti potato, spinach, bacon lardons, cabbage and a raspberry vinegar and shallot jus. It was outstanding - really! Couldn't handle a dessert, but went to bed happy and content - and still had change in my pocket. Recommended!
