What a great building and what an amazing place to relax with some excellent food and fine wines. When passing through Kings Lynn, don't even consider stopping anywhere else, The Bank House is so worthwhile. Set in a quiet area right on the quayside, its ambience is only surpassed by the excellent cuisine and warm welcome from the staff.

Review of Rose & Crown - Snettisham - Norfolk written 27 Sep 2012

What a delightful place! Lots of charm, excellent food, welcoming staff, a great array of draught beers and locals who actually smile when a stranger comes through the door. Plenty of old oak beams you can bump your head on (not that I would suffer from that problem!)

If you're in North West Norfolk, make sure you visit the Rose and Crown, it's only about one mile off the main coast road before you get to Hunstanton.

Review of The Westleton Crown - Southwold - Suffolk written 18 Sep 2012

It's been a long time since I was in Suffolk, so I was looking forward to my stay at The Crown (if it's good enough for William and Kate, it's good enough for me!!)... and I wasn't disappointed either. The rooms were super-comfortable and the welcome was friendly and efficient. When we ate in the evening, I had a starter of home-smoked organic Shetland salmon with chive blinis and chilled cucumber yoghurt which was just melt-in-the-mouth gorgeous, and for main course chose breast of Gressingham duck with rosti potato, spinach, bacon lardons, cabbage and a raspberry vinegar and shallot jus. It was outstanding - really! Couldn't handle a dessert, but went to bed happy and content - and still had change in my pocket. Recommended!

We were staying nearby on a long weekend and The Boathouse was a gem of a discovery. During the day, it's family-friendly although at night, it's maybe more of a "grown up" place. If you want a table upstairs in the evenings, it's advisable to book ahead but there are other tables near the bar down below, so no big problems.

No need to dress up for this busy bistro. We enjoyed the food although the helpings were oversize even for us. On the second night we shared a starter and went without desserts - and that was still sufficient. The food was hot and fresh we never had wait long after ordering.

The staff were most helpful and looked after us very well and we had a couple of great evenings with lovely food and a few beers in the bar later. The location (Red Wharf Bay) is one of the most beautiful settings on Anglesey. Highly recommended

Review of Wingrove House - Alfriston - East Sussex written 9 Jun 2012

This is the delicious type of hideaway that you want to shout about from the rooftop (but at the same time keep it as your own personal secret). Excellent service is very important to everyone at The Wingrove and nothing seemed like it was too much trouble for them. The smiles and unobtrusive yet attentive service made for a relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable evening with my family. The food was of an amazing standard and very reasonably priced and the staff were attentive but discrete. Brilliant!

Review of The Famous Creg Ny Baa - Onchan - Isle of Man written 5 Jan 2011

It's the little things that make the difference ... like the cheery smiles as the waiter brings your food, and they ask if you want stuff - they don't wait for you to ask.
