The George & Dragon is an excellent eating establishment run by a husband (the chef) and wife (a welcoming, breath-of-fresh-air, front of house staff) partnership. The pub is cosy and quaint and the food outstanding for such a rural and somewhat isolated location. However it??™s only 10 minutes drive north of Swaffham and just a mile east of Castle Acre. It's not "posh" but serves food that will make you want to return. I, for one, will certainly be back!

I concur with the previous review... excellent cuisine that has been carefully prepared by people who know what they are doing (and, yes, the angus beef is something really special).

Also, Walkers' Bar is a relaxed area for hikers and locals alike. You can sit by an open fire and enjoy a plate of homemade fish pie or wild rabbit stew from their 'traditional' menu

Don't hesitate to visit (or stay at) The Swan at Grasmere. It truly lives up to it's reputation.

The bar is fun, and the Bushmills whiskey is even more fun! The restaurant is cosy and friendly and the staff are professional and attentive and really make your experience all the more enjoyable. The menu is varied and wholesome and everything was cooked and presented to perfection. I'm a sucker for old-style interiors and this was spot on. The old world charm of the place is very appealing and it's difficult not to relax and unwind when you are welcomed by that wonderful smell of burning peat

A touch of class in West Norfolk .. maybe echoing the fact that Sandringham estate is only a couple of miles up the road. The Kings Head dining experience is truly a delight. The chef certainly knows his onions (not to mention his fresh local grilled Letzer??™s lobster or steamed Brancaster mussels in white wine with cream).

Certainly a reasonable choice on the menu at decent prices and courteously and professionally served in pleasant surroundings. Not more you could ask for really, is there!

Went to the Air Balloon for dinner and a few drinks with some friends. The pub is very welcoming, with friendly, helpful staff and a good selection of food on the menu (though they had run out of some items). The food was very nice - classic pub fayre, and fairly large portions, delivered pretty quickly by a very pleasant waitress.

All in all,quite enjoyable; something to please everyone and excellent value for money. We will certainly go back there.

On a small island in the Thames, next to the ruin of a haunted abbey, sits "The Trout". This wonderful upscale "gastro-pub" offers an extensive menu and wine list as well as fixed price value meals for early diners. All the food we tried was exceptional and the staff were friendly and professional.

With tables out on the patio, where you can watch the Thames go by, The Trout is perfectly positioned. If we see a summer again, it's a lovely place to go. Highly recommended.
