First the bad news - it was raining so we couldnt sit outside. Now the good news - we got a table next to the fire! The Strawberry Duck is olde worlde quaint and has a nice warm, friendly feel to it. The service was quick and friendly and the staff knew everything about the specials and food being served. Probably the best pub food I've had in many a year. A solid 9/10 for me... I'll be back!

Review of The Cowdray - Crawley - West Sussex written 1 Oct 2012

Good tasty food with good service and a smile on the face of the staff, is worth a lot nowadays, and you'll get it in bucketloads at The Cowdray. We went for a Sunday lunch, a month or so ago, and it's worth booking ahead and asking for a table in the conservatory, which overlooks Cowdry Forest.

The food was terrific - really tasty - and well worth the price and the short wait. All the food is cooked to order so the time it takes is quite reasonable. I had an excellent experience at the Cowdray as both a pub and a restaurant and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Had a great evening here. Amazing setting, lovely busy atmosphere. Sadly we arrived too late to eat but the plates being served around us looked really excellent and the deli counter delicious. The Riverside has lovely funky atmosphere in a gorgeous location along side the river (as maybe the name suggests!!), Huge outside terrace with heating. Band were excellent and played a mixture of 70s stuff.

Really was a great evening with friendly staff and good atmosphere.

Review of Man Of Gwent - Newport - Newport written 9 Aug 2012

Went to the Man of Gwent for dinner and a few drinks with some friends. The pub is very welcoming, with friendly, helpful staff and a good selection of food on the menu (though they had run out of some items). The food was very nice - classic pub fayre, and fairly large portions, delivered pretty quickly by a very pleasant waitress.

All in all, quite enjoyable; something to please everyone and excellent value for money. We will certainly go back there.

Review of The Sparrowhawk - Burnley - Lancashire written 24 Jun 2012

I recently had a great girls night with friends at The Sparrow Hawk. The food was top quality and the portions were generous. We were served quickly and professionally. In fact, all the staff throughout were attentive and friendly towards us (and each other).

Though us girlies stuck to our G&Ts, it was clear that the blokes in the bar were most appreciative of the choice of beers. An all round good night out - I will most certainly return.
