Despite being a weekday in a quiet village the pub was busy and it deserved to be. Apart from the friendly welcome from the landlady, they sold real ales (Woodford's Wherry!!) and the food was good substantial pub fayre (try the pork and apple burger or ribs). Comfortable and unpretentious - definitely worth a visit

We called in here for dinner on a Saturday night and the place was fully booked and bubbling. Nevertheless, we received a warm welcome and a table was found for us with only a short wait. We had a terrific meal including whitebait and duck breast with fresh vegetables. The food was beautifully cooked and delicious. The local brew helped washed it down and the service was excellent. The atmosphere relaxing and warm. It's small but has all you want in a country pub
