About Stein Inn

Magical places do exist... Misty dreams and faded wishes are full of being able to find that one enchanting place. Will the chosen place live up to expectations? Will you finally find that personal piece of heaven which you thought only existed in your imagination? A place that stands out with such timeless appeal that it leaves you breathless?

Magical places do exist... just journey down a narrow winding road that leads to the sea and nestled in a charming hamlet is the very place of your dream: the Stein Inn. An eighteenth-century inn that will have you yearning to visit again and again to experience the warm Scottish welcome, fine food, superb accommodation and traditional highland bar offering over 99 malt whiskies.

We offer accommodation rooms in the hotel, or the self-catering apartment, dinner, bed & breakfast, bar meals and a rich experience. Discover for yourself the Stein Inn and the enchanting Waternish peninsula.

The shores and seas around Skye abound with marine life, whilst the land supports sheep grazed on sweet heather, wild venison and the renowned highland cattle. The finest and freshest produce is readily available and is transformed at the Stein Inn into mouth-watering, home-cooked dishes.

Diners can take advantage of eating in the non-smoking dining room, or eat in the bar. Whether choosing a bar snack, light lunch or a full three-course evening meal, the emphasis is on good, wholesome food at affordable prices.

Review of Stein Inn - Isle of Skye - Highland and Western Isles written

If I want codon bleu, I'll visit Le Pre Catelan in the Bois de Boulogne on the outskirts of Paris. If I want exciting, fresh, beautifully cooked Scottish food in enchanting surroundings, I go back to The Stein Inn on the Isle of Skye.

We stayed overnight (wish it had been longer) and chose to eat in the restaurant that evening (they also serve meals in the bar). What sticks in my mind (and my husband's) is the plate full of the freshest langoustine imaginable that cost almost nothing! And then, the following morning, bacon and eggs straight off the grill. You just can't find fresher and tastier than The Stein. While we were there, they were offering tempters like Highland Venison Pie, Skye Scallops in Oatmeal and so much more. 100% to Angus & Teresa McGhie for a top class experience.
