Our large one hundred and forty cover dining room has a daily changing menu of seasonal produce in the tradition of modern European cooking with a few staple dishes washed down with an accessible wine list predominantly sourced from France, Spain and Italy.

The Abbey is made up of four spaces which work together in perfect harmony: there are the two main restaurant areas, the garden room and the private dining room. Functions of any size can be accommodated, just speak to a member of staff for more information. Children are welcome at The Abbey for lunch and dinner; we have a separate Children's Menu and numerous high chairs and junior chairs for your convenience. There is also a stash of books and toys to keep your little ones entertained on rainy days, with the outside play area capturing the imagination when weather is fair. With the safety of your children of the utmost importance to us, the outside play area can be viewed from the garden room; there is also Closed Circuit Television throughout the restaurant for your peace of mind. |

Excellent, excellent establishment. Top quality food, brilliant choice of accompanying wines, staff who understand the food and the drink, so can discuss it knowledgeably, a chef who clearly knows what he's at, beautiful surroundings and owners who actually care what people think.
I have NEVER been disapponted at The Abbey and it's always something to look forward to when we make our minds up to go again. Well done everybody concerned.

As always, The Abbey was 100%, top class. Best food on The Isle of man and best service on The Isle of Man, and all at a reasonable price. It's clear the owners understand food and wine, and use that knowledge in this establishment.

I've visited The Abbey several times now and have always enjoyed perfect food, in perfect surroundings (and a great wine list). Unfortunately, I can't give it 5 stars for one simple reason.. if there's a group arrive, they hover in the bar area (where there are dining tables) and the staff don't seem in any rush to move them through to the annexe where they will be eating. Not much fun when you can hardly hear yourself speak, or get someone dump their empty glass on your table. Otherwise 100%

The food and wine at the Abbey are exceptional for the Isle of Man and this is certainly one of the Island's top 5 restaurants. The staff are always courteous and professional (and friendly) and the surroundings are exquisite.
The reduction of one star is because every time I've been there, we've had to wait for the plates to be cleared after the main course, and wait even longer to be offered dessert. If this small detail could be improved, the Abbey would rank with the top 3.
