About The Boathouse

At The Boathouse, we have a great choice of dining and drinking to offer you, in a warm ambiance set across three levels – from the pebbled beach to the cobbled High Street of the Royal Burgh of Queensferry.

As you enter from the High Street level you see our new Cocktail Bar, stay to enjoy a cocktail or come downstairs to our renowned Bistro and Wine Bar, where the atmosphere is sharp and lively. Along our picture window wall, the Great Forth Railway Bridge stands tall and shimmers in the water,

If you prefer something a little more quiet and romantic, step into our award-winning beach-side Restaurant. It is the cosiest place on the east coast for succulent seafood and a personal service that’s second to none.

These days we hear a lot of chef’s talk about going local for produce – we don’t just talk about it at The Boat House, we actually do it. We have a solid reputation for preparing and presenting the best of Scotland’s fish and seafood plates. We’ve also got a great following to our sizzling Angus steaks.
Everything is cooked fresh to order to ensure you have the most pleasurable dining experience here in the cosiest restaurant on Scotland’s east coast.

The Boat House Bistro Wine Bar is the place to be. Nowhere can be finer than sitting here on the shores of the Forth on the heart of the romantic old Burgh of Queensferry. Meet here with your friends and family and simply savour time together at The Boat House Bistro Bar

We had an amazing meal in The Boathouse restaurant where we had a terrific view of the iconic Forth bridge - you can also eat in the bistro if you prefer. Service was quiet and courteous, honest and really helpful. Both starter and main course choices were limited but what they do they do really, really well. I had pan fried scallops and my friend had local lobster. Everything was spot on - no complaints whatsoever, and that includes the excellent Pouilly-Fume that we had with our meal.
