I was recommended this place by a friend who lives in the area. I was expecting a fairly bog standard gastro pub, but this place really surprises. A great menu with unusual vegetarian dishes that pleased my partner immensely. There was also an extensive wine list to choose from. We went on a Thursday and they were doing a 2 for 1 cocktail night, so my partner and I continued our evening in the bar. Would definitely go back the place is quirky and fun, and service and food, excellent.

Review of The Stackpole Inn - Stackpole - Pembrokeshire written 11 Jul 2012

After a day out at Broadhaven beach, we drove past the Stackpole Inn on the way back to our digs - then did an about-turn and decided on an early supper. I'm glad we did. They were booked solid for later in the evening but were happy to accommodate us because it was still early. Our timing was impeccable since they were soon turning people away - and that says a lot about a B&B and pub restaurant in the middle of nowhere!

While waiting for our meal, we were given apperitifs of olives, balsamic dip and home made crusty bread. When the food arrived (no big delays) the portions were generous and the food delicious. Everything was really tasty and very good friendly service. It was all reasonably priced for the quality. In fact, the whole experience was a good one. This pub restaurant will be top of our list to return to when we are next on the Pembroke coast. In fact, we shall be using it as our base in future.

Review of Haven Bistro & Bar - Whetstone - London N written 14 Jun 2012

I have enjoyed many meals at The Haven and have found the staff to be very polite, helpful and professional.

The food quality and quantity is always spot on with excellent attention to detail. Some of the starters are superb, like the squid and chorizo, moist, full of flavour and spot on. The set lunch menu is great value for money and despite being busy on some occasions when I've been there, the dishes always arrive in good time.

Review of Red Lion - Cricklade - Wiltshire written 5 Mar 2012

My memories of great food from my last visit proved to be accurate. All dishes on the menu are relatively simple, relying on traditional British food. Not over-seasoned, and it's very clear from the taste that everything is local and fresh.

The bar with its excellent selection of real ales is a joy, and they can all be sampled before buying a whole glass - you just have to ask!

The staff were all obliging and friendly, leaving us with a good feeling, and glad that we went back.

Review of Backstage Bistro - Paignton - Devon written 21 Feb 2012

If you enjoy BBQs and steaks you will love this place. Great food with excellent service at the right price. Unfortunately, the menu is limited for choice so if you are a frequent visitor you will probably get bored fairly quickly. Maybe they could set their minds to it and come up with some new menu ideas.
