About Dragonfish Asian Cafe | |
In June of 1997, the Blowfish Asian Café opened its doors to Seattle diners with rave reviews by food critics from Washington State to New York City. This “Asian bistro” delighted its fans with an eclectic assemblage of materials, objects and images combining classic Asian culture with popular entertainment and received local critic John Hintenberger’s coveted “Top Ten New Restaurants” nomination. The cross-cultural café concept has reinvented popular dishes of China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore. In February of 2000, the Year of the Dragon, proprietor Takao Kikuchi re-incarnated the café as “Dragonfish” with the intent to open more cafés in other markets. In 2001, the first offspring was born in Portland Oregon.

Dragonfish’s diverse menu selection of portion sizes makes it easy to graze or gorge, a clever concept for a hotel restaurant that serves many types of appetites at all hours. Lunch menus feature range from Bento Boxes, a sampling of Pan-Asian fare served in traditional lacquer boxes to Sushi Samplers. Dinner is served nightly until 1 am and has become a favorite of the “aftershow” crowd. The staff is young, friendly, knowledgeable and quick to the table. Servers are more than happy to provide the indecisive diner with guidance and insight. The high volume of traffic keeps everyone on their toes, turning tables at a comfortable pace. |
