About The Staghunters Inn

Idyllically set in the stunning valley at Brendon, on the edge of the wilds of Exmoor, The Staghunters Inn is the perfect location for exploring the breathtaking wonders of this area of outstanding natural beauty and the magnificent North Devon Coast.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our traditional, home cooked Devon fare and our reputation for serving and supporting locally sourced fine food. Our menu offers a tempting selection of local dishes and fresh seasonal vegetables served in comfortable surroundings.

Locally sourced seafood, poultry, game and Exmoor venison are just a few of the highlights, but there is much more including vegetarian options, children’s menu and light bite options.

Our well stocked cellar includes a good selection of affordable wines from Europe, America and Australia. Our bar offers a choice of soft drinks, spirits and beers including the highly regarded Exmoor Real Ale.

Nestling on the banks of the River Lyn, deep in the valley at Brendon is The Staghunters Inn. This family owned and run Inn offers its guests comfortable and well appointed accommodation, fine food and an idyllic place to rest their heads and relax. Young and old find the peace and quiet of the area, together with good old fashioned Devon hospitality, the perfect location to enjoy some of life’s simplest but most rewarding pleasures.

We used the Staghunters Inn for our evening meals while in the area and at the end of our break, we felt as though we were leaving old friends. Richard and his team have achieved an perfect balance of professional customer service and top class food while still finding the time and energy to create a friendly, fun atmosphere. We were truly spoiled with fine ale and fine wines, excellent food and courteous, friendly service.

The Staghunters Inn is absolulety fantastic, a real tradional gem, run by a very friendly family. It's a superb environment for dog owners as they are allowed in both bars (as long as they behave!). The food is really excellent - home cooked traditional - you should try their venison - it's so tender and tasy! There is a very good menu choice at reasonable prices. There are also daily specials, the starters are huge and may satisfy a small apetite on their own. Highly recommended!
