For starters, the deep fried haggis in whisky sauce was to die for! Her indoors followed up with steak and potato pie which was clearly miles better than your average pub pie - none of that flaky commercial pastry covering gristle in a watery gravy. I went for the slow cooked lamb which got a big thumbs up. First class chips and nice to have veggies as standard as opposed to having to pay extra like you seem to have to do almost everywhere nowadays. Great beer, lovely atmosphere. Go for it - don't hesitate!

OWNER RESPONSE
Glad you liked the grub! The haggis is very popular. Don't hesitate to call back next time you're passing!

Sorta hard to find, but worth it when you do. It's a nice16th century buiding which has been a coaching inn for hundreds of years. Friendly staff and the food is excellent. There's also a good selection of real ales (Timothy Taylor Landlord straight from the barrel) and wines and whiskies too. The pub is lit by many lamps and candles in the evening, and is decorated with old pictures, crockery and country paraphernalia. In winter there are hearty fires. Good pub - good food.
